2010: On Mission to Cameroon

Cornerstone is on mission for Jesus Christ. The mission of our church is found in the Great Commission and the Greatest Commandment from our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Luke 10:27You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.
Matt 28:19-20Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.

Motivated by love for the Father, obedient to the call of the Son, and empowered by the Holy Spirit we are going to carry the Good News to our neighbors to the east.
This is an opportunity for every member of Cornerstone to experience first hand mission work. As one body, the church is made up of many parts, each part important to the function of the whole. The team that will be traveling to Cameroon is only an extension of the body here at Cornerstone. Without the support and participation of the whole body working together they won’t be as effective as they could. There are many opportunities to help make this mission a success and touch the hearts and souls of the Cameroonian people.

Opportunities

  • Pray! - Commit to pray each day that souls will be saved through this mission and for those who are going.
  • Support Financially - Checks can be made out to Cornerstone Baptist Church and in the memo write missions.
  • Go – Pray about being a part of this mission trip and sign up. It will change you life. Each participant is asked to try to raise $1,000.00 to go towards the expense of $2,200 for each person. (The team will raise some of this together through fund raisers and you’ll be given a fund raising suggestion packet.)

This Mission has five points of emphasis.

#1 We’ll be working with Hope Services Ministry bringing ministry to Widows and Orphans.

  • Enhancing the development of the bakery
  • Assist with soap production (Supplies)
  • Bible lessons
  • Encouragement

#2 We’ll be working with other believers to bring a children’s program of bible training and evangelism (VBS). We’ll provide games, activities and food for the children.

#3 We’ll be holding a pastor’s training seminars. The purpose of these seminars will be to encourage, equip and challenge pastors to stand for truth in a culture of compromise.

#4 We’ll work with Hope Services to bring a day time mobile health clinic to each village. The clinics will be open three days in each village. We’ll share the gospel one on one with each visitor.

#5 We’ll hold three, three day crusades in all three different villages.
Crusade ministry opportunities include;

  • Preaching
  • Worship
  • Drama
  • Teaching
  • Etc.
